A guide through the baroque city
Fulda, located on the river of the same name in the East Hessen region in the heart of Germany, is a university, baroque and episcopal city with the episcopal seat of the diocese of the same name. Its landmark is the cathedral, the most important baroque church in Hesse, which together with the surrounding buildings – Michaelskirche, Schloss, Orangerie, Alte Wache – forms a remarkable ensemble. This guide presents the buildings and museums in the city and its immediate surroundings in a compact form using informative texts and numerous color illustrations, making it an ideal companion for visitors. At the end of the book, a city map, in which the presented objects are listed, also makes orientation easier for the reader.
